These AMI Build Plates were fitted in the engine bay of all early model Toyota's built during the 1960's and early 1970's at the Australian Motor Industries Port Melbourne facility. Used extensively on Crown, Corolla, Corona and Tiara models they had a unique number that allowed AMI to keep track of the bodies it had built for Toyota.
Often many cars have lost this plate or when an owner has removed it for painting the original plate has been deformed. Toyota Heritage's reproduction part is exacting in every detail.
